As the sun set on a hot sultry June evening, Thunder Heads reared their tops above the mountains to the east. The distant storms were out of ear-shot but after the sun set lightening could be see flashing through the clouds.
Checking the weather map on weather.com revealed that these two small isolated showers were 60 to 70 miles away.

WOW, this is GREAT light--absolutely beautiful! And a very good exposure as well. Just magnificent luminosity and color.
In answer to your comment on my SWF post, I too am disappointed by the few people notice sunrise on their commute. I usually arrive on campus at 6:00am where I grab my favorite bench and mug of coffee to sit and watch the sun coming up (of course, for the next couple of months I'm arriving even earlier until dawn is at a more reasonable time).
It's probably a testimony to people being too engrossed in their own world to notice the huge show going on right before their eyes--a pity.
