My First Fireworks

Friday night at the County Fair was my first ever attempt to photograph fireworks.

I captured this image handheld with a .8 second shutter speed. I’m sure image stabilization helped me considerably. The next time I'll be sure to have a tripod and use a longer exposure.

Excellent for a first try. My first and last try didn't turn out so well. I'll have to give it another try next July 4th.

You mean 1/8 right? When you first told me that, I thought you meant 8 seconds.

Chad,
8 tenths of one second. I double checked before posting to make sure I posted it correctly. In reviewing the shots this was the slowest shutter speed I had tried and it produced the best images.
