Shooting from Behind

Trying to mix things up a bit while photographing wildlife, I sometimes try some shots from the rear. I believe this perspective presents this buck’s antler spread in an advantageous manner for the greatest viewer impact.

I also used Photoshop to apply Gaussian blur and darken the periphery to focus the viewer’s attention upon the buck.

Like it or not, tell me what you think. I promise I won’t be offended.

I like it Salty, you mean I have a use for all those rear end shots I have taken over the years.

Looks good, that is a beautiful buck, the type I could sit and watch for hours.

Nice perspective - I think he's reflecting on the next doe that's going to come his way - :-)

Very very nice. Now you've got me pondering over all the butt shots I've taken over the years....

Salty: Neat shot and that buck has a great spred.

I love the highlights on the antlers and his thick neck.
There is something very regal about this shot from behind.

I have been away for a couple weeks and am trying to catch up on some of my favorite blogs. You have some amazing deer photos the past several post. The one with the broken blood antler is so great and shows how the deer have to fight to survive.

Great angle, Salty! Love it! Kinda like a silouette but much more detail. The color and texture are also most interesting. You sure are one creative guy.....
