Reflection: Canada Goose

Our resident Canada Geese are establishing their nesting sites and this goose was reluctant to leave the point of land jutting into the lake. As I slowly moved the boat along the shoreline the goose swam parallel to the boat allowing this close-up photograph. Later in the morning I observed this goose and its mate picking grass on the earthen dam breastwall.

The sharp reflection captured here is what made this particular image stand out above the other images captured during this close-up encounter.

Wow...this is extraordinary! I don't think I've ever seen a reflection so sharp and still. Lovely, as always.

Salty, this is a wonderful photo! You do really good work! The reflection is very snappy. Thanks for your constant encouragement when you visit my blog. I sometimes am too hard on myself, and want EVERY photo to be extraordinary. Naturally, that doesn't happen. I use the Canon EOS 40D. I dropped my big lens (I think it's the same one you use: the Canon 100-400 IS USM telephoto) a year ago in February. It was attached to my Rebel XT at the time. I had the lens repaired, but it's never been quite the same in the head since dropping it. Someday, I'd like to get a faster lens as well.
