I saw a couple of this yesterday when we were out hunting. They sure are a beautiful creature to look at in the wild.

my, what a beautiful bird and two wonderful pictures! The sharpness is wonderful as well as the background... How did you get these ones? Woodpecker are so hard to get close too!!!

The red-bellied woodpeckers will visit feeders unlike so many of their cousins. Sunflower seed, corn, and suet cakes are all work well. This bird is perched on the side of one of our natural bird feeders where feed is placed inside an upright hollow log.
