Midsummer Whitetails

With the oats ripening in the fields the whitetails are taking advantage of the bounty of the season.

Until harvest and for a short time afterwards fields containing oats are among the best places to find bachelor groups of bucks this time of year.

A fawn test the air as it steps from the woodlands into a field of ripening oats.

While we are at the midpoint of the summer already some spots of color can be found.  Spots of foliage color such as this reminds one that autumn is just around the corner.

I love the deer shots, but NO,fall can't be that close.I do know that in reality it is,but I am just not ready to think fall.

Lovely deer shots. I don't like to think of fall coming either--it's getting much too close. We're losing daylight at a rate of 7 minutes a day and it is going fast!

Your deer shots are beautiful. Yes, fall isn't far away. It was only 46 above here this morning!

Hi Coy!
Lovely Pictures, the fawn is Beautiful.
I havent seen fawns or roes at all here in a long time....no moose either. Only one day to work and then 4 weeks of vacation. I will go out early in the mornings and see if I be lucky to capture some
