A Turkey Vulture glides gracefully in the strong March winds.
I always await the return of the vultures. Their graceful flight is one of the first signs the long winter is coming to an end.
New Grass
A spring seep provides warmth to give this grass an early start
I just noticed today that a few turkey vultures were circling the trees where they roost during the summer. I guess Spring is officially here.
ReplyDeleteNice picture of the new blade of grass.
I really like seeing the grass coming up. That does seem like Mother Nature is being reborn anew.
ReplyDeleteTurkey Vultures and buzzards are two birds that have not landed in my backyard. But when we go somewhere I take my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT with with and have the 75-300mm zoom lens on. Yesterday I drove to a camera store to look at the new XTi and on the way two buzzards flew low over my head. I was on a busy street and unable to pull over or stop. Missed again. So when I came here today to thank you for stopping at my 720pixels blog, I was stunned to see your vulture. For a lot of reasons. But one was that I had posted a picture of a fly and ant eating a slice of pear and explained how insects and animals like the vultures and buzzards keep our environment clean. And bang. There you got my bird and a good shot too. With your equipment the image is sharp. I wish Canon would put IS on my camera or a lens that I could afford.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping at my place.
