Chip

I bumped into Chip this morning but I’m still looking for Dale :)

As photography was not my primary reason to be out and about this morning I decided to lighten my load by carrying only a Canon Power-Shot S2 IS. This little chipmunk posed for the shot about fifteen feet away.

  1. Very cute!

You'll know "Dale" by the big red nose.

  2. Neat shot! My kids favorite cartoon when they were little was Chip and Dale. This brought back nice memories!

  3. I think Dale's up somewhere on Garland Road, isn't he? :P

I know chipmunks are glorified vacuums, but they are awfully cute little vaccums :)

PS: I was inspired by your backlit fern shot, and managed to salvage a similar little tidbit from one of my photos that day. Its really really small, so now I have a photo to go with my comments :)

  5. The first thing I thought about when you wrote "Dale" was ole Porky. After you left the woods today he brought his new pet "Homer" to the barn and he, Jr, Billie, and I had an old fashioned backwoods gossip session.

  6. Hey Salty!
How are you? I love this photo. And I REALLY love the Fall Festival photo. What a hilarious idea! That's putting pumpkins to good use! :-)

  8. Good old Canon Powershot..
Small enough for the pocket as well.
Nice capture salty, these are a lot nicer to see then our squirrels, but I bet they can match them for mischief

  9. That little fella needs a peanut. LOL. I always (when I think of it) carry peanuts (unsalted and raw) along with me and drop them here and there in areas where these little creatures wander or where squirrels are. I can imagine their happiness at discovering the food.

Nice photo. It wasn't afraid. That's good.
