Pretty blue sky in the background, Salty. These little buggers are plentiful at my feeder also in Western PA. They are what I call the birdfeeder bullies.
More great captures Salty, still looks great tho. Sorry to hear you have been under the weather also, hope you soon recover. slowly catching up and recovering
A great selection of images since my last visit (the one with the "snow man"). I actually saw one of these birds this morning in the bush that all my birds frequent but it didnt stick around for long and it is a dull overcast day anyway. I really hope to put a better environment in my front garden for the birds this summer.
I love the abandoned house shot and your sunrise is superb.
Love the action shot Salty. These guys can really zero in on their target. The shot shows how sleek they really are. Wouldn't want to tangle with those claws. Noisy but always fascinating.

New Steam post up now.
Great shots! He certainly looks ready to dive.
ReplyDeleteAren't Jays the greediest? I enjoy watching them acting so pompous around the feeder! These are good action shots .. they don't pose nicely!
ReplyDelete“Ready to drop like a missile” you nailed that one for sure Salty.
ReplyDeleteHey... the fact that you got the second frame is impressive! I would have surely missed it! :-)
ReplyDeleteTake care!
But it's still an amazing photo.
ReplyDeleteOh my, maybe some day I'll be able to photograph birds...

ReplyDeleteI like your photos today.
ReplyDeleteI have actually got tears in my eyes when I missed shots. I know they won't happen again and if they do I won't be there with a camera. It is sad.
You didn't miss it completely....and it definitely shows that he was diving for it!
ReplyDeleteI think these are GREAT!

ReplyDeleteThese are great! Although you "missed" the second shot I think it's cool to see those feet... man kind of scary.

WOW! That's an awesome shot! I really do love the variations of color on bluejays.
ReplyDeleteI have some rather passive, bulky birds on my blog today. =)
Nice photos of the blue jay. I think the photo still has alot of interest even though you were a second too late.
ReplyDeleteVery nice shots Salty. I still like the second shot b/c it shows action and like folks said, it's still a pretty cool shot.
