Capturing Autumn

Autumns colors combined with golden hour backlighting combine to transform this simple poison ivy plant into a beautiful scene of autumn glory.

Frequently the best was to capture the vibrant colors of autumn foliage is with strong backlighting. Backlighting allows the light to shine through the leaves creating a soft glow.

  4. I was OK until I read poison ivy and then I didn't want to look any more. I don't get it often and can't remember the last time I had it but I wasn't taking pictures of it then.

I do like the colors and honestly thought it was grapes on an old grape vine.

  5. This is beautiful. I love the backlighting. And I always thought it a complete injustice that poison ivy was so pretty. It begs to be touched. From my earliest memories, I'm one of those that gets head-to-toe rash just by looking at them (if the wind is blowing the right direction.) I guess maybe there is some justice for it in its beauty, but not for me!
