Eastern Bluebird & Dogwood Berries
Yesterday I posted a shot from my first photo encounter with a Bobcat. Today I share my first of an Eastern Bluebird.
Bluebirds are fairly common in my area but I have never specifically attempted to photograph them. While sitting in the woods in my portable blind, a pair of bluebirds alighted and began eating dogwood berries. I hope to capture better bluebird shots in the future but for now I’m glad to have added another species to my archives.
The dogwood berries make the prettiest setting for your photo of the bluebird! Excellent!
ReplyDeleteIt seems like this is your lucky week Coy? I can't wait to see what you will post tomorrow!! LOL!! Great shot of this pretty bird.
ReplyDeleteOh, he's beautiful! I have taken may shots of bluebirds...but very few good ones. These guys are a bit flighty!
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to hear more about this portable blind you have. If you've posted about it before....can you direct me to that post? I have been thinking more and more about investing in something like that.
Salty: What a neat capture of the Bluebird. I'm glad you are seeing all the nature around you.
ReplyDeleteDrop over and see the little buck that came into my city back yard.
I enjoy your blog so much--keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful memory and a wonderful capture. This would make a perfect notecard.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really nice picture. I like the sky ones too. Happy skywatching.
ReplyDeletetwo first in one week... that's great. The setting for the bird is perfect with the little red berries
ReplyDeletebeautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shot.
ReplyDeleteThe bluebirds do seem to enjoy the dogwood berries. Good place to set up the blind. They look so good with the berries too.
ReplyDeleteI do love this shot! Husband thinks you could have cut the right half, but I think I agree with your editing. That dry leaf picks up the colour of the bluebird and enhances the final result.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
And congratulations on two firsts!!
