Camera Critters : Turtle Reflections



Sunshine brings the Painted Turtles out of the chilly spring waters to bask in the warm rays.

These colorful turtles are somewhat shy, slipping quietly into the water if I happen to approach too closely with the boat. This pair surprised me when they allowed me to maneuver the boat to within fifteen feet.

    I don't see many painted turtles in my area but a few box turtles (?) in the yard from time to time.

    Yes, they do usually slide right into the water. It is so frustrating when trying to photograph them. Nice capture!
