A Cedar Waxwing poses for its Camera Critters Portrait
Although common in our area the Waxwings are not frequently seen. In this case a small flock was perched in the branches of a dead Lombardy Poplar and allowed my wife & I to walk by on an evening stroll. Little did the bird know that soon its image would be seen around the world.

That's a beautiful shot of the Waxwing. They're a pretty fun bird to watch. Around here, they are quite bold, and not too bothered by people.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful portait it is.

I had several come in this winter. One sat and posed for several pictures. My husband really likes the cocky attitude of the Cedar Waxwing.

Beautiful portrait and wonderful composition.
ReplyDeleteWhat an unsual little face with a hint of a top knot! Looks like a fun little bird!
ReplyDeleteI admire this bird on other blogs but have never seen on in person. I wouldn't know where to look that would be different from where I already look. Nice shot.
ReplyDeleteYou probably don't remember when people lived and died at home and endured wakes. I wrote about it here. http://bing-it.blogspot.com/
Nice shot. Stoic looking birds. Hope to capture one someday.
