With the cold temperatures descending on our area this weekend I decided to do some of my photography from a warm observation post. To get an acceptable background I attached a broken rotted limb temporarily to my deck railing near the bird feeder. Attaching a plastic cup to the backside and filling it with sunflower seed completed the setup.
Soon a male Northern Cardinal landed on a branch checking out the new accommodations.
GORGEOUS!!!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love that second shot. I love the first shot also, but the tilt of his head in the second shot is priceless!! So beautiful...
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful! You have done a really good job of creating natural looking shots with just a simple addition to your deck. Most of the time during the winter it's cold enough here that through the window is really the best option. I may have to do a little bit of investigation outside tomorrow....
ReplyDeleteHi Coy,
ReplyDeletegorgeous shots! I love this cardinal pictures!
Hello, Coy
ReplyDeleteAs usual, your Images of the Wildlife are real nice. You always do such a great job. Around this area there is not that much to Photograph in birds. What I do see is usually to far away or not in a good position to snap a picture of.
A example of this was just yesterday. After finishing my entry about Florida and HDR, I went upstairs into the kitchen. Looking out to our backyard, I saw a Hawk sitting on our Fence. He was brown & white in color. Very nice to see, but didn't stay there very long. He flew away within a minute. Didn't even have time to grab my camera. Missed it again!
I love this idea! Great results, too!
ReplyDeleteStunning photos. Love the second one with the tilt of his head. The natural setting is so nice.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shot Coy. The framing of the second shot is perfect. Great shots from your cozy climes.
ReplyDeleteNice one Coy. I've been shooting through the window for most of the month but I guess it's colder where you are!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning!
