Shadows

While capturing autumn foliage shots I chanced upon this shadow

Yellow Jackets are far from the top of my most favorite creatures list. I have been known to spray entire nest of them when they decide to build somewhere not to my liking.

On this day, with the Yellow Jacket posing no threat, I was pleased to catch her shadow before she hurried along her way.

Great shot Salty. Not wild about yellow jackets either but their shadow is perfect on the yellow leaf. A unique picture.

Yellow Jackets are famous around here for seeking out people to sting and bite pets on the most tender parts. There is a story behind them and why they do this and it surprised me.

Nice shot Salty.

Took me a while to find the shadow since I read your title and just stared at your photo. Then in reading your commentary I found the shadow. Cool find!! :) :) I am not to fond of anything that can bite or sting!! :) :) Hope you are on your holiday and having a wonderful time. Aloha, Renee :)

What a creative set-up for a picture! The whole photo is very neat, the yellow, the shadow, the out-of-focus green leaf in the background. Love it :)
