Icy Lane

The beautiful ice formations I have been sharing these last few days were all found along this road.

My wife was particularly drawn to this photograph and found the scene “inviting”. As pretty as it was I knew it was not wise to venture far from the main road for my car could easily have become stuck.

This final post will conclude the “Icy” series. Today we experienced temperatures nearly 60 deg. F. Although this temperature is unusual for our area, it is far from a record. With the strong cold front now approaching, we will be returning to more seasonable temps by morning.

I enjoyed your ice storm photos. I missed any possibility of getting some images during that storm--by the time I was out of class the ice was melting rapidly. Some wildly fluctuating temps we've been having this winter!

Looks good, Dad.

Yeah, it was 80 degrees here today, it's supposed to drop to about a high of 70 this weekend though ;)

Good ice shots, Salty. With the gusty winds out there right now, I'd say that cold front is fast approaching.

Beautiful shot. It's suppose to snow Friday and Sat. so we'll get more. I'm hoping for spring.

Amazing -- these ice pictures. We had your weather with lots of wind yesterday and even more rain. But there is a hint of snow this weekend. We need to get back to normal or we will all pay for it this summer. I did enjoy your photos of ice coverings.

Gorgeous photo! You and I are similar - we see an ice storm as a wonderful photography opportunity ;-)

Great perspective and the black and white are perfect. I think you were wise to not venture further. I loved this series Salty.

It does seem to be enticing (pardon the pun) you to walk down the road!
