The Race is On

Not really a race; but rather the beginnings of the whitetail rut

This nice buck appeared as daylight was rapidly fading. I panned along with him as he chased a doe and fired the camera using a 1/4th second shutter speed. I was pleasantly surprised with the results. Not the portrait shot that I am always striving for but I think it turned out pretty cool.

What do you think?

Salty: It is pretty cool when you blow it up.

That is a pretty neat shot Salty, I also like the effect it ended with. It looks like it is a pretty nice buck.

I liked the photo before this one also, I really lack with shooting flash and have never been able to figure out the sb800 with the big lens. You captured it well.

I agree this did come out kinda cool. I thought it was a fox chasing a rabbit until I read about it.

It captures the chase perfectly - I can only imagine the speed of that buck!

Love this shot. Pretty accurate too - bet the buck whizzing by at a good pace!

There is definitely action in this photo!

Your Challenge at Dusk photo below is beautiful. I love the lighting and the color.

Although I understand and approve of hunting, I could never do it and would have a hard time seeing a magnificent animal like that killed and dragged (or whatever they do with them) away.
