Migrants: Northern Pintails

With the early spring waterfowl migrations now underway a number of transient species are beginning to move through our area. Some will linger to visit while others will pass through quickly as they move towards their nesting grounds to the north.

Coy, thanks for posting what I consider is the most elegant of our winter ducks here in the UK.

Expect with the southerly warm front this weekend allot of the waterfowl will be making the push to the north. Nice PT shot. Blue Skies.

I saw several thousand pintails yesterday too near Blaine, WA. I think a lot of them spend the winter there, but I bet the urge to move will happen soon too.

Amazing! Some of us would have to cheat and compose this in photoshop to achieve all that this image does.
