It seems that the Family Photoblog subject of the day is leaf filters. As I didn’t shoot any of these creations I decided to post the technique by which these images were captured.
Amy is pictured here shooting with her handy little Canon S2 IS. This camera has the ability to focus on the front lens element in the super macro mode allowing her to hold the leaf directly against the front of her lens hood and capture only the light passing through the leaf.
To see the Leaf Filter creations simply click on Chad or Ash, if you have not already done so.

That shows you how focused I was - I never noticed you down there, shooting up!
I really like the perspective, and this probably isn't the weirdest thing I've done to get a shot :)
Looks like a how-to illustration image from a manual.
OK.... now that I've seen all these posts on the leaf, I've got to try this technique. Thanks!
I am impressed! You guys are too much. I am enjoying your family get together and all that you did.
I don't think my camera as that capability but what the heck I'll give it a try..
Great series going on between you all, I feel like a YO-YO nipping backwards and forwards to you all.
It's great to see you all out and bout doing your stuff, yet each as their own style.
My SLR won't do it but I have a Lumix that will. So I will try it.
Very interesting...something I have got to try!! Thanks for sharing! I also checked out amy's site...fantastic! On my way to check out chad's...
Always a memorable visit here!!
Thanks!
