Stately Great Blue Heron
No series of Florida would be complete without a photograph of a Great Blue Heron. Unlike my last trip to Florida where Chad & I captured a GBH spearing a crappie, on this trip I only observed them standing and watching intently.
Perhaps you are tiring of my Florida bird series. Please vote on today’s poll to indicate your preference.

Very nice, Dad. Keep them coming ;)
What a great shot. I totally love your bird series. :) :) I hope I can get out and take a few duck shots myself since my parents live close to this lake and I keep wanting to get out but when I do the duckies have disappeared!!! Where do they go?? :) :) Hope you continue with your birdie/duckie shots!! Aloha, Renee :)
I LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing all of the different birds! Makes me want to visit Florida!!!! Keep these shots coming!
Beautiful shot. Do you have rookeries there.?? Great poll by the way, we never know what to post, or if people are getting bored with our hobbies.. Thanks for sharing

I never tire of seeing what's out there in our great big world, especially when photographed by a talented Salty.
A great capture of this beauty .. not just that but the habitat it is hunting in looks so luch as well. A proper Country Capture
I've been enjoying these posts! In early April we will be visiting my father in law who lives in Lakeland, FL so I'm looking forward to seeing these sites in person myself (I hope). I would love to capture some great pictures too! A couple years ago when we were there, I saw gator too. Did you get any pics of those. Just curious.
Playing catch up here Salty, great all of them, but this Heron is fantastic, looks like me - an old man haha.
Salty: I love the great Blue Heron. Sometimes in the Summer the heron and I are the only ones fishing the lake in early morning.
