I've taken quite a few pictures of vultures, but not one in flight this good! Great shot!My SWF is at Prairie Visions!
A turkey vulture!? I don't think I've ever seen one of these soar. Nice catch!

Hi Salty! Great buzzard shot! I wonder if that is one of the ones who was visiting down here this past winter.
Those birds are everywhere - they look a lot better way up in the sky than close up. Love the blue sky.

These have always been known as or called Buzzards around here. And they are lots of them before I went to the hospital.Your photography is nice as it always is. I will comment more at another time as I just returned from hospital and am not back to normal.Abraham Lincoln in Brookville, Ohio.

Salty: The buzzards return to Hinkley, Ohio every year and they have a festival. I saw 4 the other day but they were circling far away and I never got a chance. This is a great photo.
Salty, first time here...Today's photo is beautiful, but I scrolled down and all your pictures are amazing!My favorite so far is the loon. I lived in Maine for 6 years and fished early mornings and their voice stayed in my mind forever.

Their flight is so graceful. The way they soar on their huge wings is quite amazing. How anything so beautiful can be so ugly is a mystery.
This is a great shot...another question I have wanted to ask for a while now...what is the bird in your header...hawk, falcon, ???
