As the Canada Geese became more accustomed to me and my little pop-up blind they began feeding on the submerged vegetation nearby.
The geese were feeding in pairs and as I observed them I noticed that one would tip while the other kept a close watch for danger. Not once did they allow hunger to cause them to drop their guard and both tip at once.
In the hustle bustle human world we frequently are tempted to throw caution to the wind but in the world of wildlife where every day is a life and death situation, caution is always at the very top of each day’s agenda; a lesson well worth remembering!

Your Geese photo is terrific, along with the dissertation. Very nice. You know, that Eagle photo of mine you commented on, had a sad note to it. That Eagle was near the Milk River almost in the yard of some friends of ours. I was feeling so good about getting close to him, until I realized he just wasn't right - I think he had an injured wing, and I just left quietly to not stress him any more than he already was. I don't know what ever happened to him.
Love the title and the pictures! I can never get good shots of birds in water so marvel at the ones I see that come out great.
Wouldn't we all be better off if only we wre more cautious? Great shot.

Your post title was perfect! And love how you caught one up and one down!
I like that it's both. And yes, there are many lessons we could learn from wildlife. But do people, as a whole, learn much of anything from anywhere?
I especially enjoy watching Nature when the animals are at ease and are fully engaged in their surroundings without the need to fall into fear.

I was surround by many of these last week.... I'd do my walk and returned to the Land Rover... I had taken a loaf of bread to entice the duck and geese but forgot to take it with me. I started to feed the ducks and geese nearby... when the Canada Geese mobbed me... The daft thing was I'd put the camera away.. ha!... I do have ducks on view today and will be showing more tomorrow.

Good observation, and as usually, nice capture of it. Those geese aren't all honk after all!
Coy, I didn't do so well at Middle Creeck this past Saturday. The bird numbers were down the day I was their and I could get nothing close. The road was closed that goes around the back side but it was scheduled to open the day after I was there. Still a great place, maybe you will have better luck.
