As I approached, this honker’s mate flew away, leaving it to fend for itself
In a nearby marsh honkers were paired up. Some were standing on the bank while others were swimming nearby. It appears that the nesting season is beginning. In a few weeks I hope to be able to photograph the goslings.
This has to be the strangest honker I have ever encountered.
I could not believe my eyes when this image materialized on
my computer screen :)

Funny...A little startling but funny none the less.
So, what exactly is going on with the "strange" Honker? I'm trying to figure out what I'm looking at.
Is that for real?? It can't be! hahaha
I'm starting to look for little baby geese in our local pond.
I love that top pic. Very nice. The last one....with the "teeth" now that is kinda scary...
Dad and Mom are on their way right now, and tomorrow we're going on a "honker hunt" of our own - we'll see if they're still hanging around Middle Creek :)
I seriously doubt we'll see any Canadians like the one in your last picture!
